Coach Announcements 2017-18

The Zone5AA Ringette Club would like to announce that the following coaching positions have been filled.  Both of these coaches bring many years of coaching experience with them.  We are very excited to have them with us for the 2017-2018 Season!


Zone 5 AA is happy to announce that Chris Broadhurst will be leading GRIT this upcoming season as Head Coach of the U19AA team. Chris has a wealth of experience, having coached at many levels for the past 25 years.  Many of those years spent coaching AA Ringette.  Chris brings a passion and knowledge of the game to the bench that is unsurpassed.

Zone 5 AA is happy to announce that Cheryl Govenlock has been selected as the U16AA Head Coach of the Pack for the upcoming season. Cheryl played ringette for 20 years before beginning her coaching career that has spanned the last 20 years. She has coached all levels, from U12 to Team Canada. Also a highly respected lacrosse coach she has proven ability in talent identification and skill development in female athletes in both sports.

Zone5AA is happy to announce that Darrel Pidhirniak has been selected as the the U14AA Head Coach.  Darrel brings many years of coaching experience at the AA level and we are happy that he has agreed to Lead EDGE this season!

In the off season, our coaches will be developing a system plan for all our AA teams with specific skill progression and mastery of skills at each age level. They will be coordinating practise plans and providing consistent system instruction across all three age groups in order to develop every athlete to their highest potential as they progress through each age division.
